we’ve moved…again

i can barely believe it.

any guesses how many times we’ve moved?

especially in comparison to how long we’ve been married??

yeah…that’s why i’ve been so quiet as of late.

really, who’s thinking of posting to their blog when they’re surrounded by mountains of boxes

and constant reminders of all the things they’ve NOT accomplished.

but here we are.

it’s heaven.

1200 glorious sq ft now greet me when i come home.

a coat closet, people.

and a bathroom to myself.

well, the hubby too.

i don’t mind that part, really.

it was sharing with my shorties that was getting gross.

now they get to gross their own bathroom…and clean it too.  :D

i’ve been happily working to.

here are a few photos:

here’s my sewing area… *big grin* …this too is heaven.

a place to spread out and not pack up when it’s dinner time.

*gasp*

tell me it ain’t so!!

what this picture doesn’t show you is the frame BEHIND my sewing table.

right between the table and my pretty yellow couch.

it’s so fabulous.

okay…would you like one more picture?

doesn’t look like much, huh?

well, the story is this:

anna called me and told me that her sister was getting married.

she wanted to have a quilt made for her with fabrics from everyone invited to the wedding.

each fabric was meant to remind the giver of her sister and brother-in-law.

the variety of fabrics was…astonishing!

so i chose red to help kind of bring everything together.

so far i’ve completed 9 blocks.  21 to go.

now to go work!

ciao!

Congrats on your move – it’s wonderful to have your own sewing ‘space’! I really like the idea to have the wedding guests give fabric samples for a quilt – how cool is that? And your first block looks amazing – what a joy it will be for her to have it all come together.

Thanks! Yes…the space is wonderful. Even more so I don’t have to share it with the girls. As for the wedding quilt, it’s a great idea but I would do things a bit differently next time (i.e., request fat quarters from everyone and specify 100% cotton quilting fabric). I hope they really enjoy it!
