I need help! I’ve been wracking my brain to come up with a name for
this pattern but it has been consistently escaping me. So here are the rules (they’re more like guidelines):
1) The name must describe the pattern ~ not the fabrics.
2) Can be named after a person, place or thing. (That would be Husbands contribution to the rules…will add for the you-love-me factor which equals those mysterious points that cooking doesn’t always score.)
Well, there you go. Suggestions People! I need suggestions.
Post an idea and the winning name will receive my Floating Stars pattern. :D (How’s that for incentive?!? I’d give this pattern away, because it’s awful perty, but it’s going to be in my Freebies section as soon as I get it written up. Keep checking back!)
Are you interested in the pattern details?
It takes 1 Jelly Roll (I used Breakfast at Tiffany’s), 5ish yards of background (which includes borders) and 1ish yards for the second border. It is King (!!) size. (Truly the largest quilt I have made…) But I’m going to break it down to twin size quilts so you can have an option.
Do you like the approximate yardage for background and border? It’s because I’m too lazy to reach two feet to get my folder. Don’t fault me, please…I’m on vacation! This quilt has been my I’m-on-vacation-and-I’m-going-to-quilt-because-I-want-to quilt. Now I’m working on the Spring Mystery Quilt. hee hee

Stepping Stones. It looks like a river that needs to be crossed.
Quilts can be hard to name, at least for me. But looking at this one something like “Boxed Rails” or “Boxed In” came to mind. Whatever you call it, it is a nice quilt.
I would name it Embraced Love
I would name it jelly roll escape.
How about either Seaside Sweetness or Steps to the Seashore???
There’s a joke in here somewhere about Elvis’ Quilt as the King of Jelly Rolls, but I”m too tired to figure out what it is… however, I do think you should refer to the Jelly Roll strips in the title, so maybe something like “rolling squarely to the seaside” because it’s rolls in squares inspired at the seaside…?
Town Square
Hopscotch.
Simple, and it just looks like it to me. Okay, so that I can see the real thing and don’t have to rely on photo’s might give me an advantage but I’ll take it.
What do I win?
I think it looks like stacked dice rolled to the number 5, you could incorporate the Jelly roll part that way too…..Rolling Dice
Jumpin’ Jelly Rolls!!
I thought of something to do with crossing ‘T’s and dotting “i”s with the major cross sections, but that really doesn’t address the 5 squares between…
I would say the pattern looks like a tea party.
Rollin’ Rails
Two by Three Nine-Patch
How about Line Dance?
How about Hop Scotch?? Old Maid??? or….. Rehabilitation
Looks like ‘Crossroads’ to me.
“Where did I park?”
King’s Cross. Lots going on inside the neighborhood blocks and subtle connecting (rail) lines in between. How about THAT for an active imagination! Tina
